Our Mandarin Varieties

Ironbark Citrus currently grow seven varieties of Mandarins including Fremont, Nova, Honey Murcott, Low Seed Murcott and our very own farm bred variety The Royal Honey Murcott.

 

Fremont

Known for intense flavour and vibrant colour.

The Fremont is a medium size, flat/oval shaped, rich red/orange coloured variety. It has smooth, easy to peel skin, some seeds, and a very intense sweet flavour. It is excellent for fresh consumption. It ships and stores extremely well. Harvest begins Week 2 in April.

 

Nova Mandarin

Best described as being big, super juicy and sweet.

The Nova is a medium/large size, round shaped, orange coloured variety. It has smooth skin and is easy to peel. It has a pleasant flavour, contains few seeds, and is very juicy. It is excellent for cooking, juicing, and fresh consumption. It ships and stores extremely well. Harvest begins Week 2 in April.

 

Royal Honey Murcott

Our very own premium mandarin which can only be described as simply the best.

This exciting variety has been bred on our own farms in Queensland, Australia. The Royal Honey Murcott is a medium to large size, flat/oval shaped, rich red/orange coloured variety, related to the traditional Honey Murcott Mandarin. It has a smooth, easy to peel skin, few to no seeds, and a very rich, sweet flavour, with very low acid levels and high juice content. It is a favourite for fresh consumption. It ships and stores very well. Harvest begins Week 3 in May.

 

Honey Murcott

The world's all time favourite mandarin variety!

The Honey Murcott is a medium size, flat/oval shaped, rich red/orange coloured variety. It has smooth, easy to peel skin, some seeds, and a very intense sweet flavour. It is excellent for cooking, juicing, and fresh consumption. It ships and stores extremely well. Harvest begins Week 2 in July.

 

Low Seed Honey Murcott

Asia's favourite Mandarin Variety!

The Low Seed Honey Murcott is a medium/large size, flat/oval shaped, orange coloured variety. It has a thin, smooth skin, and has very few seeds. It has a rich, sweet, honey-like flavour. It ships and stores well. Harvest: begins Week 1 in July.
